This Cookie Policy explains the role that browser cookies and similar technologies may play when you visit PuttyCostCalc.com, how to manage them, and how our use of such technologies may change as the site develops. It should be read with the Privacy Policy. Last updated: 22 October 2026.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of information a website or related service can store in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and temporary session storage. They can help a website remember preferences, keep administrative sessions secure, control repeated requests or support analytics and advertising.
Not every request or technical log is a cookie. For example, hosting systems can record an IP address, requested page and timestamp when a webpage is delivered even if a browser blocks cookies.
What our calculators need
Our wall putty calculators perform numerical calculations in browser-side JavaScript. Their basic area, quantity, coverage, bag and labour computations do not require you to register or accept a marketing cookie.
The calculator input values are used to display a result on the page. The normal operation of WordPress, web hosting, caching and security tools may still involve limited technical records or functional browser storage.
Categories of cookies
- Essential and security-related: technologies needed for basic website delivery, administration, safe operation or abuse prevention. Some may be set only for logged-in administrators, not ordinary visitors.
- Performance and functionality: technologies associated with page caching, session behaviour or remembering a setting where a feature supports it.
- Analytics: optional technologies that measure visits or website interactions. These should be described accurately and controlled as required before activation.
- Advertising and personalisation: technologies that may be used by advertising partners if advertising is introduced. They can involve cross-site tracking and additional privacy requirements.
Technologies currently associated with the website
The website uses WordPress and website caching and maintenance tools. Whether a particular browser receives a cookie can depend on the page visited, login state, browser settings and service configuration. We do not publish a fixed inventory of cookie names or retention periods without confirming that such a list matches the actual configuration.
At the time of this policy review, our public homepage inspection did not identify a configured third-party advertising or analytics tag. This is a point-in-time observation, not a promise that technologies will never be added or that every administrative or provider-side cookie is absent.
Third-party content and external links
If you follow links to manufacturer documents or other websites, the destination site may set its own cookies or use independent analytics. Those activities are covered by the destination’s policies, not by the policies of PuttyCostCalc.com.
If we introduce embedded services, external videos, advertisement placements, analytics tools or affiliate tracking, we should update this policy and implement any required consent or choice mechanisms before using non-essential technologies.
How to manage or remove cookies
- Use your browser’s privacy or site-settings menu to view cookies and stored site data.
- Delete data for PuttyCostCalc.com if you want to clear previously stored site information.
- Block third-party cookies or enable browser tracking protection when available.
- Use any consent or preference controls that the website provides if optional tracking technology is activated.
- Remember that blocking essential cookies can disrupt some functionality, especially administrative or security features.
Retention
Cookie expiry and related server-log retention are determined by the function and the provider or website configuration. Session cookies generally end with a browser session, while persistent cookies can remain for a set period unless you remove them. We avoid presenting a made-up fixed retention schedule for services that may not be enabled.
Updates and consent
If we substantially change our cookie practices, this page should be revised. Where law requires informed consent for non-essential tracking, merely displaying this policy does not replace the need for a suitable consent mechanism.
