Wall Putty Labour Cost Calculator
Estimate wall putty application labour using contractor rates per square foot and net wall area.
Calculate in seconds
Update the example values below for your actual wall, brand and project. Results are approximate.
How this calculator works
Labour cost (₹) = net wall area in square feet × the quoted labour rate per square foot. Net area excludes doors and windows. The entered rate should already cover the agreed coats and scope of work.
Worked example
If 1,000 sq ft of wall needs putty and the contractor quotes an illustrative ₹8 per sq ft, the labour component is ₹8,000. Material, primer, paint, transport and repairs are not included unless they form part of the contractor rate.
What affects your result?
Surface texture and porosity, brand formulation, application thickness and site wastage can change material requirements. Compare your inputs with the manufacturer’s latest product instructions. For further context, see JK Cement’s wall putty guidance and our calculation methodology.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enter a contractor rate per square metre?
This tool expects rupees per square foot. Divide a quoted rupees-per-square-metre rate by approximately 10.7639 before entering it.
Are doors and windows excluded from the labour area?
Yes. Enter their total area as openings in the same unit used for the main wall area.
Is sanding or surface preparation included?
Only if your entered contractor rate covers those tasks. Confirm patching, sanding, protection and cleanup in the written quote.
Can the calculator estimate ceiling putty labour?
Yes. Add the ceiling’s area to the measured surface area if the same per-square-foot labour rate applies to that work.
Does selecting extra coats automatically increase the labour price?
No. This tool uses your all-coats quoted rate. Increase the entered rate if your contractor charges more for additional coats.
Does the calculator include materials?
No. It calculates labour only. The main wall putty cost calculator includes material bags and labour.
Should I multiply the rate by two coats?
Only if your contractor quotes a separate rate for each coat. Otherwise use the combined rate for the agreed job.
What is the labour rate in India?
It differs by city, surface preparation and contractor. Ask for a local written quote rather than treating the example as a fixed market rate.
